Things That People Did to Lose Weight That I Found On Reddit

Here are the closest things to cheat codes for weight loss I've found. I'm not a doctor...

  1. I drink a whey protein shake and coffee in the morning. Lots of protein, not a lot of calories...coffee helps curb appetite.
  2. I avoid simple carbs like the plague. And I never drink sugar. They cause spikes and dips in blood sugar which makes it hard for me to control my appetite.
  3. I eat mostly protein, veggies and fat. It makes me feel the most satiated per calorie, for the longest amount of time.
  4. I drink plenty of water and iced tea (unsweetened obviously). Sometimes hunger is actually thirst.
  5. By eating low calorie in the morning...and eating fairly light lunches...I save my calories for the evening. I hate going to bed hungry...so I'd rather be hungry during the day. This is not generally accepted as the best way to eat...but I do what works for me.
  6. I never cheat. No cheat snack. No cheat meals, no cheat party. No cheat day. No cheat vacation. It's easier for me to have rules I always follow, then to decide the right amount to break them. I've been well over 300lbs and have serious issues with over eating (food addiction and major stress eating basically). This may not be applicable to you.
  7. Weight loss is all about diet. Working out is good for you, but it's much harder to burn calories than it is to (not) eat them. A lot of people falsely assume that if they just start working out the weight will fall off. Wrong. People lose weight by consistently eating at a deficit.
